About Me

My photo
I currently study and live in Birmingham and am in my second year of university, undertaking a degree in media and communication. I used to blog (about fashion, style, clothes etc.) but for various reasons stopped. However, I now find myself at a point where I have more developed and informed opinions on an array of different things, including the fashion industry. This blog is not going to be photos of outfits and clothes, but my view on a multitude of topics surrounding the fashion industry. Fashion is something that I love but as media undergraduate I want to write articles that avoid the wishy washy adoration so commonly reflected in fashion blogs and magazines. It's interesting to look a little further and dig a littler deeper.

a foreign land

In 10 days time I shall be here; the beautiful Madeira. I have never been before, but from the photos I have seen it looks absolutely breathtaking. I'm only going for a week but a week is better than not at all. Words cannot even begin to describe my excitement! Some of you might know that I have never been on a plane before (I think I mentioned it in a previous post) so I'm also rather nervous. I'm going holiday shopping again this weekend, hopefully it will be the last time as I just need some essential bits and bobs. Have you been to Madeira before? What is it like?

luck doesn't happen to me, accept for today

Long time no post. Sixth form is stressing me out big time meaning that I haven't had very much time to post. But the other day I did get something that cheered me up slightly. I entered a competition on the Glamour Magazine website and actually won! I never win anything like that so I was pretty chuffed. I won a Montagne Jeunesse face mask, I know its not amazing but I was still very pleased with the prize. It's one especially for blemish prone skin which is perfect for me, so I cannot wait to use it. I will let you know if it's any good and what effect it has on my skin. Have you tried this mask before? Or any other mask from them?

decisions, decisions

As you can see from the photo I have done a spot of shopping over the weekend. My holiday is three weeks today (yippee!) so I thought I better get some summery attire and so on. As well as these shops I also went to Superdrug, Boots and M&S but didn't need their bags because I already had quite a few. I really hate using plastic bags if I already have one from the previous shop, just seems pointless to have loads when you could only have a few. Anyway, I didn't really have enough time this evening to do a big haul post, and I'm not completely sure if you guys like them or not, so I thought I'd wait a while.

rain rain go away

Sorry for the lack of posts. I was meant to do one today which would basically be a big haul mainly featuring make up and other beauty products, but we didn't go shopping because of the atrocious weather (non stop rain all day). It will probably next week instead as I need to get a dress for a party I'm going to. So in the mean time I thought I would show you a couple of photos from the shoot with Bex. Enjoy.

Simple things

shorts; H&M, tunic; Dorothy Perkins, belt & sandals; Topshop
hello all, I just wanted to show you guys how something as simple as belt can completely change an outfit. I know it might sound really obvious but sometimes the obvious is the last thing we think of. It was lovely and hot so I wanted to wear something cool and light. Plus I was just lazing around the house so I didn't need to look too composed. I had a plain pair of shorts on, they're quite an odd material and the best way to describe them is 'wannabe denim', they're really light and comfy. All I did was tuck part of the tunic into the shorts for a simple casual feel and added a pair of sandals; perfect for a lazy summer day. Then, to make the outfit look slightly more smart and appropriate for going out, I put a belt round it and tied it in a knot (the shorts are underneath). It's just the little things that make a lot of difference.
p.s. this post was meant to go out on Friday but blogger wouldn't let me upload photos
